WEST POINT–– On Monday the OCIAA Boys Golf Championships took place at West Point Golf Course, an 18-hole, par-70 course. 

The top 29 players qualified for the Sectional Championships with four of them hailing from Sullivan County. 

Manor/Roscoe’s Wes Kinne was the medalist for Sullivan County, firing an 80 to finish fourth in the field of 48 golfers. 

Josh Yan of Newburgh Free Academy shot the low round of the day, a two-over par 72.

Monticello’s Angelo DiMatteo scored 83 to qualify for next week’s Sectionals. Owen Moore of the Liberty Redhawks scored an 88 and Gavin Thomas rounded out the top Sullivan County finishers with a score of 90. 

Round 1 of the Sectional Championships are scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston with the final round taking place on Thursday, May 22 at McCann Memorial Golf Course in Poughkeepsie.
