Monticello – On a day focused as much on growth as competition, the Liberty and Monticello boys tennis teams faced off in a matchup between two young programs working to build for the future. Liberty came away with a 4-1 victory, though the final score did not fully reflect the effort shown across the courts.
Liberty controlled the three singles matches, winning each in straight sets, while Monticello picked up its lone point through a forfeit. The highlight of the afternoon came in doubles play, where the teams battled through a tightly contested three-set match that showcased the determination and improving skill of both squads. In the end, Liberty managed to pull through in the decisive set to secure the sweep on the court.
Despite the loss, the match represented another positive step for two developing programs looking to gain experience and confidence throughout the season.
