Liberty Market to become Kosher store

Posted

LIBERTY – One of the more popular supermarkets in Sullivan County, the Liberty Market, is closing its doors.

The market will officially be closed on Sunday, April 16. Owner Randy Resnick of Rock Hill stated that the new owners are turning it into a year-round Kosher Supermarket.

The undisclosed new owners have yet to announce an official opening date for the kosher market.

“When we started, we underestimated what the store was going to do,” Resnick said.

They are featuring a store closing sale, with everything excluding beer, tobacco, and lottery tickets - all being placed at 20 to 30 percent off until the final day of business.

The market is open every day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. this upcoming week until its final day.

“We’ve been here for three years and unfortunately it was just time to move on,” Resnick said. “It was important for us to try to make sure that whoever took over the store was going to at least be able to service the community.”
