Lighten Up performing at Honesdale’s Central Park on June 19

HONESDALE, PA – Summer officially begins on June 20 this year but you can get an early start the night before by enjoying the sunny tunes of Lighten Up.

This popular local group will be performing on Thursday evening, June 19, beginning at 7:30pm.

Randy and Rose Light have been playing music together for more than thirty years. Their influences run the gamut from Ella Fitzgerald and Dixieland jazz to   mountain bluegrass and Jefferson Airplane. Audiences can expect an eclectic and upbeat mix of Americana, country, blues, swing, and classic rock music.

They’ll be joined on stage by Grady Davison, a strong vocalist with a flair for current country music. Veteran bassist Firp Edwards missed last year’s concert due to an injury, but is fully recovered and ready to put on a great show. His colleague in the rhythm section will be experienced session drummer Andy Pace.  Ralph Liberto will be rounding out the ensemble on  saxophone and woodwind. He graduated from Berklee School of Music, and also teaches at Black Bear Conservatory in Hawley.

Audiences should bring their own chairs or blankets for seating. Fresh ice cream from Creamworks will be available for purchase. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be rescheduled for later on in the summer. Tune in 105.3 FM for more information, or check the WCCAC web page on Facebook or www.honesdaleparkevents.org.
