MONTICELLO – On November 14, local veterans came to visit the second graders at the George L. Cooke Elementary School to give presentations on their military experience and what it means to be a veteran.
Luis Alvarez is a Sullivan County Legislator for District #6. He is retired from the United States Army and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. He is also currently a member of the town of Liberty’s volunteer fire company. Brad Dromazos is a Monticello alum, graduating in 1986. He is a retired US Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer.
After the presentations, the students presented the veterans with letters thanking them for their service.
