Longtime educators honored at Homestead School gala

The Homestead School recognized two of its longest-standing teachers and administrators, Linda Fedorick and Lori Zambarano, at its annual gala on May 27 at The Arnold House.

Both Fedorick and Zambarano started their journeys at the Homestead when they each enrolled their children there, becoming so inspired that they pursued training in Montessori education.

Although now retired, both educators were recognized for their lasting impact on the Homestead School, after spending many years in both teaching and administration roles.

Fedorick served over two decades as an early childhood lead guide, and then trained as a certified Montessori Elementary guide and spent many more years leading lower and upper elementary classrooms. She continues to substitute regularly on the Glen Spey campus.

Zambarano, now Director and Founder of Milanville Montessori, spent 25 years at the Homestead School as a guide and administrator, starting as an early childhood assistant before becoming a lead guide.

She later took on the role of Director of Admissions and Enrollment and Assistant Director of the Glen Spey campus.

Nisha Gupta, Director of Advancement and Montessori Best Practice, honored both women at the gala. “You helped shape not only generations of students, but generations of teachers, families and relationships that continue to live within this community today,” she remarked.

The gala included hors d’oeuvres, a sit-down dinner, and silent auction as guests including parents, alumni and Homestead founders Pete and Marsha Comstock mingled. The night also included videos produced by Homestead students and speeches from two high school seniors who will be graduating and pursuing their career dreams.
