“Perceptible to Conceivable - My Long and Winding Road 1968-2024”- A Community Art Exhibit featuring the work of Richard Arnold will be held at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello now through February 21 in the Robert D. Norris Community Room. Based in Kiamesha Lake, NY, Arnold is a Yale and Pratt-educated artist, art historian, and bibliophile. He has worked at the Metropolitan Museum, is the owner of the Glen Wild Studio, and has been patronized by the late Lincoln Kirstein. His art has been featured in exhibitions over the past twenty years in the Hudson Valley and at the Blue Mountain Gallery in Manhattan, and is included in collections at institutions such as SUNY-Ulster, the Leslie-Lohman Museum, the Cragsmoor Free Library, the Government Art Gallery in

Bangalore, India, and Yale and Sterling Memorial Library - Department of Manuscripts and Archives. For additional information, contact the Crawford Library or visit their website.

Mark your calendars for the Rotary Clubs of Sullivan County Health Fair to be held at Resorts World Catskills on Friday, February 20 from 10 AM until 3 PM during the 48th Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-a-thon. Health agencies from throughout Sullivan County will be on hand to provide screenings, information, assistance and hold mini health sessions. From blood pressure screenings, to nutrition, to mental health, to over-all wellness, and more – come to learn, find ways to, and get assistance on becoming healthier. Have you registered to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser to benefit the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless on Saturday, February 28 at The Adler Hotel in Monticello? Walk in this symbolic event (approximately 1 mile) as an individual or consider joining (or creating) a team to help raise much needed funds to help. Sullivan Central Rotary Club and Friends Team is already established, and you can contact 845-798-1770 for more information on how to join the team or as an individual or to create a team.

And don’t miss the chance to support the Alzheimer’s Association and supporting my friend Terry Grafmuller and his team Strike Out Alz. During the Sue Bunce Memorial Sullivan Freeze for the Cure Polar Bear Jump Fundraiser, he and his team take a plunge at noon jumping through a hole in the ice on Saturday, January 24 (event begins at 10 AM) at the White Lake Firehouse, Route 17B, White Lake, to raise funds to help find a cure of this disease that touches so many of us and our neighbors. For more information, please call 845-866-6275.

Happy Birthday to Dorothy Monforte, Matt Lehman (1/20), Kelsey Collins (1/21), Michelle Waltr-Sheerer, Ronnie Greene, Lily McCausland (1/22), Charlotte Kesten, Lori Rivenburgh Simmons, Jerome Martin, Colleen Delles, Kristen Schultz Oliver (1/23), Bob Poje, David Katz (1/24), Jennifer Jensen, Russ LaSpina, Nancy Nicoletti, Christopher Evans (1/25).

And just a quick reminder – County and Town Taxes payment are due on or before February 2, due to January 31 falling on a Saturday. If you plan to use a postmark, be sure to have your envelop hand stamped at the post-office as there has been a change in the schedule of how the postal system post-marks our mail.  Mailing it in a postal box does not ensure same day post-mark any longer. For more information, contact your local town tax collector.

So, brave the cold and snow and get out and do! Only 59 more days to spring! We’ve got this! And, as always, just in case I really don’t “Know It All,” please keep me in the know by emailing me at LoriJames.SCDemocrat@gmail.com.
