March 16 – March is marching forward with crazy weather and so many activities coming our way. A month of celebrations and filled with activities, there is much on the horizon to know.

March is Music in Our Schools Month. Get out to see Wonka at Sullivan West and/or Cinderella at Monticello. In addition, several concerts are also being presented. Contact local schools for more details and opportunities.

March is also Women's History Month and Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay recognized Sullivan's own Sheriff Lt. Cheryl Crumley. Lt. Crumley has a 22-year career protecting the people of Sullivan County. She was the first to achieve her rank in the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and was recently awarded The Sheriff Colleen O'Neill award, given to an outstanding female deputy who has made a significant and meaningful contribution to the advancement of the Office of Sheriff. She was recognized for her work as a crisis negotiator, as well as her command of the Sheriff's Youth Division. She is past president of The State of New York Police Juvenile Officers Association. Congratulations Lt. Crumley on this well-deserved recognition.

The Honorable E. Danielle Jose-Decker has been appointed Administrative Judge for the Third Judicial District. In her new role, Her Honor will oversee trial court operations across Albany, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. Congratulations on this well-earned promotion.

Forty years in any field is quite an accomplishment. Forty years in the radio business, a business that has changed with tech and streaming services is really something special in this day and age. Congratulations to Eddie Wilson for 40 years of on-air presence. From his start at WFMV-FM in Blairstown, New Jersey, Eddie has worked at several stations throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, including WIXL-FM, WNNJ-FM, WAEB-FM, WNEW-AM in New York City, WFAS-FM in White Plains, WSUL-FM in Monticello, and now - 95.9 VOS-FM, where he currently serves as morning host, while also contributing to production and public service programming. Eddie is known for his fun personality, creative song montages, and artist tributes. He has become a familiar voice for listeners throughout Sullivan County and the Catskills. He is also the co-host of the pop culture podcast, “The Marvelists.”
