New Exhibitions open at DVAA on September 20

NARROWSBURG – Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) proudly announces the opening of two new colorful, playful, and visually arresting exhibitions, Rhythmic Allure by Avani Patel (Brooklyn, NY) in the Alliance Gallery and Painting by Candy Spilner (Cochecton, NY) in the Loft Gallery. These vibrant and mind-bending exhibitions are sure to chase away any hint of the Fall blues. Not to be missed! On view from September 20 – October 26.

Avani Patel – Rhythmic Allure:

Patel’s vividly colored paintings explore patterns, repetition, and the natural world, invoking the costumes, exotic flora, spices, and rhythmic sounds of her Indian heritage. She uses mark-making and repetition as tools to signify changes in our world and the passage of time, creating a corporeal feeling of motion and change, beyond pure memory.

Candy Spilner – Painting:

Impulsive and essentially improvisational, Spilner’s work investigates visual perception and the complexity of pictorial space using color, layers and texture to create illusion and even confusion. The empty holes in the constructions, and how the shapes in her work affect the white wall surrounding them are as important as the paint.

Opening Receptions for both exhibitions will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 4-6pm and will be preceded by an artist talk with Candy Spilner at 3pm and Avani Patel on Saturday, October 11 at 1pm.

DVAA is located at 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg.

Walk-ins are welcome, and our galleries are ADA-accessible. Gallery & Shop hours are Thursdays – Sundays, 11am -4pm, and by appointment. Free and open to the public and by appointment.
