LOCH SHELDRAKE – This GivingTuesday, New Hope Community is inspiring generosity by launching a campaign focused on funding transformative experiences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
December 3 marks a powerful intersection of International Day of Persons with Disabilities and GivingTuesday, highlighting the global movement to celebrate abilities and promote inclusion while inspiring generosity. This overlap emphasizes the urgent need for support and understanding, amplifying the impact we can make together. At New Hope, this day is more than a campaign—it’s an opportunity to fuel transformative change in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. By giving today, our community is championing independence, dignity, and the right for everyone to thrive.
GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement, ignites millions worldwide to give back and transform communities. New Hope’s participation underscores its commitment to empowering lives by providing opportunities for independence, choice, and personal growth. This year, the goal is to raise funds for programs and experiences that empower over 1,000 people through sports, arts, and community engagement.
“GivingTuesday allows us to amplify the impact of our work and bring our community together in the spirit of generosity,” said Debra J. McGinness, Chief Executive Officer of New Hope Community. “We are excited to see how the support of our community will continue to fuel dreams and transform lives.”
“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year,” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s Chief Executive Officer. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.” This year, New Hope aims to make a significant impact by ensuring that people with developmental disabilities continue to have access to the life-enriching opportunities that New Hope provides.
