CALLICOON – Collin Flynn loves to be in the woods. From spring turkey hunting to fall whitetail deer season, he likes to spend as much time as possible enjoying the great outdoors.
On Saturday, November 16 Collin was doing just that at his deer stand in the Town of Shandaken in Ulster County, not far from the Town of Neversink line, when he shot what many would consider a buck of a lifetime, downing a massive 11-pointer on the opening day of the season.
Despite the windy conditions, Collin was able to harvest the buck, which scored 77.75 in the 51st Annual Sullivan County Democrat Big Buck Contest to take over first place by 1.75 points over Matt Peters.
Collin’s buck sported a 21-inch outside spread and beams which were over 22.5-inches each.
