MONTICELLO – It was Senior Night for the Panthers baseball team. Parents and friends filled the stands in support of their favorite athletes. Monticello High School English teacher and high school musical and drama club director, Kim Schneeberger, attended the game to support one of her drama students, Sean Clearwater.
Kim shared, “For Sean to be able to balance both the arts and the athletics is really awesome, I’m so proud of him, and I’m so glad to be included in this evening.” Allison VanAken was in attendance to support her son, Logan Brundage.
Allison said, “I’ve waited for this moment, but it’s sad to see. These are the last ballgames, the last prom. It’s a bittersweet moment.”
The Monticello Panthers and Minisink Warriors held each other to 0 runs scored in the first two innings. At the top of the 3rd, the Warriors locked in their first of 11 runs in the game.
The game remained within reach for the Panthers until the top of the fifth when the Warriors took control of the game, scoring 8 runs.
