Peace, Love & Creativity: Winter Wellness for Adults at Bethel Woods

BETHEL – Bethel Woods Center for the Arts invites the community to warm up this winter with a new workshop series, Winter Wellness, designed to help adults unwind, explore their creative side, and foster meaningful connections. This six-week program, beginning on February 12 and running through March 19, offers a perfect midweek escape from the chill with hands-on activities, mindfulness practices, and artistic exploration. Each workshop will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM and is open to all skill levels, with sessions priced at just $15 each.

Throughout the series, participants will engage in a variety of creative activities inspired by the peaceful and vibrant spirit of Woodstock. The series kicks off on February 12 with a Peace is Possible Meditation session led by Kadam Kyle Davis of the Kadampa Meditation Center in Glen Spey, focusing on cultivating optimism and peace through meditation. The following week, on February 19, Elizabeth Bassett will guide attendees through Clay Play, an introductory workshop where participants will get their hands dirty and create textured 3D art pieces to take home.

On February 26, Leila McCullough, owner of Wool Worth in Callicoon, will host Hooked on Crochet: Beginner’s Workshop, teaching the fundamentals of crochet and empowering participants to begin their own projects. Then, on March 5, Grounding with Sound: A Candlelight Reset, led by ecotherapist Lauren Pacione, will offer a soothing sound bath and meditation session, designed to help participants find peace and reset for the season ahead.

March 12 brings Imagination Training: Remembering Play Through Movement with Erin Dudley, a dynamic blend of yoga, dance, and improvisation exercises designed to spark creativity and relieve stress. The final workshop on March 19, Beyond the Brush: Meditative Abstracts with Catherine Chesters, invites participants to experiment with watercolors, acrylics, and inks to create peaceful, abstract art that reflects their inner creativity.

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is proud to offer these accessible and enriching workshops, which are designed to help individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels reconnect with their creativity, relax, and nurture their well-being during the cold winter months. Whether you’re seeking a new hobby, a chance to de-stress, or simply a fun night out, this series offers something for everyone.

Tickets are available for $15 per session, with no prior experience necessary. Participants are encouraged to bring an open mind and curiosity. To learn more about the workshops and to secure your spot, visit BethelWoodsCenter.org/WinterWellness.
