SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Eldred Yellowjackets are now 2-1 on the season with last week’s win over Cairo-Durham. After the first half the Yellowjackets had already built a 42-6 lead. Cairo-Durham would go on to score another touchdown but fell 42-12 on their home turf. Koen McGill rushed for 136 yards, James Deyermond gained 155 yards and scored three touchdowns and Connor Ranaudo scored a touchdown on a kickoff return. Tonight it’s the battle of the Bears and Yellowjackets at 7 pm with the Yellowjackets holding the home field advantage.

The Liberty Redhawks suffered another loss last weekend to the Port Jervis Raiders.The Raiders jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter scoring 34 points. In both the second and third quarters the Raiders went on to score 14 points in each quarter, completely shutting out the Redhawks.  The Redhawks are scheduled to face Rondout Valley on Saturday at 6:00 pm. The Redhawks remain winless but will look to regroup tomorrow when they step back onto the field.

The Panthers took another tough loss from Burke losing in the final minutes of regulation. This was a rematch of the two teams after facing off previously to a similar outcome. The Panthers are on the road this Saturday at 1:30 pm where they will face James I. O’Neill in an away contest.

In another clash of local schools the The Rockland Wolves will host the Sullivan West Bulldogs on Saturday at 1:00 pm on Rockland’s home field. With players in question, the Wolves are still trying to find their footing this season. Sullivan West easily defeated Ellenville 51-14 last weekend and are hungry for another win.
