SULLIVAN COUNTY – The reigning 8-Man champs lost their opening game last week to the Pawling Tigers, 30-6. The Tigers also handed the Yellowjackets their first loss last year, though the game was a much closer contest. The Yellowjackets have home-field advantage this week as they take on the Ellenville Blue Devils at 7 pm on Friday under the lights.

The Fallsburg Comets were shut out last Thursday on the road against Millbrook/Webutuck 34-0. The Comets also play Friday at 6:00 pm against a tough PinePlains/ Rhinebeck squad.

The Burke Catholic Eagles limited the Liberty Redhawks to just six points in their matchup. They will face the Saugerties Sawyers on Thursday at  6:00 pm. Both teams will be looking to secure their first win of the season. The Redhawks will have home-field advantage.

FD Roosevelt/ Hyde Park Presidents routed the Monticello Panthers on the road last week, 42-0. The Presidents scored 28 in the first quarter alone, seemingly sealing their victory early on. The Panthers are scheduled to play the Goshen Gladiators Friday at 7:00 pm in Goshen.

The Rockland Wolves played their first game of the season against Pine Plains/Rhinebeck on Tuesday, September 15- a recap of that game in next week’s Pigskin Preview, after the game was postponed last Thursday. The Wolves are also scheduled to play a second game this week against Onteora on Saturday, September 19 at 1 pm at Onteora High School.

The Bulldogs picked up right where they left off last year, securing their first win of the season over the Ellenville Blue Devils 56-18. They have a huge home matchup against Pawling on Friday at 7:00 pm in Lake Huntington. This game has largely been the deciding factor as to who will win it all in the championship game in November.

The Tri-Valley Bears are 1-0 after their home win over the Onteora Eagles last Friday. We’ll see how the Bears “line up” against Millbrook/Webutuck this Saturday, September 19, at 1:00 on their
