PUEBLO WEST, CO –Just 48 days shy of her 114 birthday, Annabelle Rosenberger Holblinger passed away on Friday, January 27 at the home of her daughter, Anne Beers, in Pueblo West, CO.

Annabelle was born on March 16, 1909 to George (Charlie) and Wilhelmina Rosenberger of Callicoon, and had six siblings.

At the time of her passing, Annabelle was the fourth oldest living person in the United States and the ninth oldest world wide.

“She had a wonderful life,” her daughter Jean Peterman of East Hampton, CT. said.

Longevity was one of the hallmarks of the Rosenberger family, with Annabelle’s cousin, Marie Zeletsky of Callicoon, living until 110.

Marie would volunteer at the local Grover Hermann Hospital well into her 100s and also attended Holy Cross Church in Callicoon on a regular basis.

And Annabelle’s sister, Mae Kratz, was 104, while her two other sisters, Olive Donohue and Barbara Ryan, lived to be 95.

Annabelle’s obituary, which apears on page 2B of this issue, says, “Hers was a long and happy life and her family asks that you join us in celebrating her and wishing her bon voyage on this her next journey.”

In addition to her two daughters, Annabelle is survived by dozens of relatives throughout Sullivan County.
