NEWBURGH – Safe Harbors of the Hudson’s Ann Street Gallery is pleased to announce its 2025 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition, which will open on Saturday, September 27 and run through Sunday, November 23. The exhibition opens for Newburgh Open Studios weekend, September 27-28 from 12-6pm with a reception from 4-6 pm. William PK Carter will offer special performances on Saturday, September 27 at 3:30 pm and on Sunday, September 28 at 1:30pm. Artist talks with the Fellows will take place Saturday, October 18 at 2pm.
The exhibition will showcase the work of 2025 fellows William PK Carter, Ana Maria Farina, and Bridget Vasquez, whose individual creative practices range from painting, sculpture, textiles, puppetry, and multidisciplinary works.
Gallery Director Alison McNulty shared, “Ann Street Gallery is proud to present the work of William, Ana, and Bridget in our third exhibition of 2025, and as part of Newburgh Open Studios. The Emerging Artist Fellowship program is focused on amplifying the work of talented and dedicated local artists, connecting them with mentors, tangible resources, and community to help them advance in their practice and careers. It has been a privilege to get to know each of this year’s fellows, and to be able to support their experimentation toward the development of their new works. I am thrilled to welcome visitors to the Gallery to experience their work firsthand.”
Now in its fourth year, the Ann Street Gallery Emerging Artist Fellowship program aims to provide a supportive platform for early-career or under-recognized artists in Newburgh and the Hudson Valley, with a focus on artists from historically marginalized communities. The six-month fellowship provides three artists with opportunities for mentorship, networking, and professional development as well as a $2,000 materials and supplies allowance, shared studio space, a cohort exhibition in the gallery during Newburgh Open Studios, and individual guidance toward identifying goals and further opportunities. The three fellows were selected by a jury led by Ann Street Gallery Director Alison McNulty with members of the region’s arts community from applications submitted during an annual open call.
Ann Street Gallery is located at 104 Ann Street, Newburgh. The exhibition is free and open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 1-5pm, with additional times available by appointment.
