MONTICELLO — The Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC), in conjunction with the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) and the Third Judicial District Gender Fairness Committee, will host the Second Annual “Women in the Law Day” on Wednesday, March 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lawrence H. Cooke Sullivan County Courthouse, 414 Broadway, Monticello, New York.
The event will feature a panel discussion with women attorneys and legal professionals representing diverse careers in the law and justice system, followed by lunch and a networking opportunity for attendees to connect directly with panelists. The program is designed to inspire young women — particularly students considering careers in law, public service, or advocacy — by providing direct exposure to the breadth of professional paths available within the legal field, including as attorneys, court officers, clerks, and court reporters.
“Women in the Law Day” is a recipient of the 2025 National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations (NCWBA) Public Service Award, recognizing its impact in connecting young women with meaningful opportunities to learn about careers in law and public service.
“This program reflects our shared commitment to inspiring the next generation of women in law,” said Hon. E. Danielle Jose-Decker, Administrative Judge of the Third Judicial District and Co-Chair of the Third Judicial District Gender Fairness Committee. “By bringing young women into the courthouse and connecting them with accomplished legal professionals, we hope to spark an interest in careers that serve our communities and advance justice.”
The panel discussion will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m., with attendees requested to arrive by 10:45 a.m. for check-in and seating. Lunch will be served following the panel, and the program is expected to conclude at 2:00 p.m. The event is by invitation only.
