LIBERTY – In a world that often moves too quickly, small acts of kindness can leave the biggest impressions. At Liberty Elks Lodge 1545, a dedicated group known as the Stitch Witches is proving just that—one carefully crocheted blanket at a time.
The Stitch Witches, a close-knit circle of crafters, have been channeling their creativity into a meaningful cause: donating handmade baby blankets to Project Linus, a nonprofit organization that provides comfort to children in need.
For members of the Stitch Witches, the act of crocheting goes beyond a hobby. It’s a way to connect—with each other and with the community. Project Linus distributes these blankets to hospitals, shelters, and social service agencies, ensuring they reach children who could benefit most from a sense of security and care. For many recipients, a handmade blanket becomes more than just a physical object—it becomes a source of comfort during challenging times.
As the Stitch Witches keep their hooks moving, their mission stays simple: to bring warmth and comfort to others, one stitch at a time.
