MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development, in partnership with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, proudly announces the 2025 Workforce Summit, taking place on Wednesday, October 22 from 8am-10:30am at The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Water Park’s Grand Ballroom in Monticello.
This year’s Summit will focus on promoting inclusive workplace practices, particularly for individuals with differing abilities, in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event is designed to provide employers with practical tools, strategies, and resources to support inclusive hiring, employment, and retention practices.
Highlights of the 2025 Workforce Summit:
• Proclamation and Recognition from Sullivan County Government
• Ability Affirming Training with a Chamber of Commerce Certificate in Ability Etiquette
• Discount on 2026 Chamber Membership for participating employers
• Complimentary Breakfast provided by The Center for Workforce Development (starts at 7:30am)
What to Expect:
• Educational Workshops & Breakouts – Topics include inclusive hiring practices, workplace disclosure, unconscious bias, and workplace awareness.
• Keynote Panel: “Let’s Talk Work” – Featuring professionals with lived experience and employer case studies on successful inclusive practices.
• Ability First Training – A focused session on etiquette and best practices for working with individuals of differing abilities.
• Action-Oriented Takeaways – Attendees will leave with practical toolkits and draft action plans to begin improving inclusivity in their organizations immediately.
• Networking Opportunities – Attendees will engage with employers, job seekers, service providers, and advocates committed to building a stronger, more inclusive workforce.
This summit serves as both a training and a call to action, bringing together business leaders, HR professionals, public sector agencies, and community partners to reimagine workforce systems and build workplaces where everyone can thrive.
