LAKE HUNTINGTON – The Sullivan West Bulldogs traveled to Eldred on Friday night for a rematch of the Section IX 8-Man Championships. The Bulldogs stepped onto the field and quickly set the tempo, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter to take an early 14-0 lead over the home team. In the opening minute of the second quarter, the Bulldogs again found the end zone for a touchdown and converted the extra points to take a 22-0 lead.

On the kickoff return, the Yellowjackets took possession from their own 35-yard line. However, after a turnover on downs, the Bulldogs regained control. On the next possession, SW quarterback Jesse Milk, unable to find an open man, spotted a gap and executed a QB keeper for a fourth Bulldogs’ touchdown, extending their lead to 28-0. The home team found the end zone with 2:33 left in the second quarter, making the score 28-6 before both teams retired to the locker rooms for halftime.

The Yellowjackets opened the third quarter with possession, but another turnover on downs halted any offensive momentum.

The Bulldogs scored once more with 5:34 left in the third on a 30-yard pass from Jesse Milk to Will Saul. The Bulldogs secured their third win of the season with a 34-6 victory over the Yellowjackets!

Coach Ron Bauer said after the game, “All the guys played together and it was a great team effort!”
