Posted

The Thanksgiving Kauneonga Lake Indoor Market was held Saturday, November 23 at the Duggan School in White Lake. Featured were approximately twenty local vendors who shared unique crafts, jewelry, farm products and assorted novelties.

Ginger’s Homemade Shop, owned by Ginger Morris of Ferndale, and now known as Fancy Candle Fun, displayed handmade decorative candles which are individually molded from colored and flavored wax. Some are trimmed with gold leaf mica powder paint for a festive look. She carries a full line of aromas ranging from lilac, ocean cypress, earth and woods, apple cinnamon, gingerbread, to fruit loops. There also are beautiful centerpiece arrangements and soy candles. Working from home, she sells online on Etsy, shipping by mail. She will be at the Sullivan County Visitors Association Market on December 7 and the summer KL Outdoor Market. You can find her goods at fancycandlefun.etsy.com .

Tracy’s Treasures, owned by Tracy O’Neill and William Crumley, offers a large variety of inexpensive memorabilia, vintage LPs, bumper stickers, satchels, new and used jewelry, Xmas tree skirts, and Woodstock era collectibles. They also host a seasonal market on Ballard Road and are at the Stormville antique and flea market.

Edith Kovacs knits and crochets acrylic, hand washable hats, mittens, headbands, and scarves for adults and children. She also makes baby blankets and bonnets. For twenty years, she has been donating her wares to churches and schools, and began appearing at markets this year. Her prices range from $5 to $25.

Nadine Herzog makes indoor/outdoor decorative signs by cutting, sanding, painting, and varnishing pieces of scrap wood. Her artful lettering is done with acrylic paint and prices range from $5 to $50. She will be at the Elks craft show in Liberty on December 14 and may be contacted at (845) 798-0094.

Sina’s Fine Arts is owned by Hassina Brodie, a portrait artist of pets and people. She studied at the Arts Student League in NYC and offers magnets, and acrylics and oils on wooden surfaces.

North Country Farm in Ferndale, owned by James Philp, is family operated and has been in business for two years. He offers organic carrots, kale, green onions, zucchini, spinach, five varieties of tomatoes, and dried statice wreaths. He will be at the KL outdoor summer market and the Jeffersonville farmer’s market seasonally. Contact him at nocofarm926@gmail.com.

Katskill Mountain Critters is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization run by volunteers with a mission of raising awareness about stray pets, especially cats. According to volunteer Joan McDonald and President Henni Anker, they accept food and cash donations, have a spay/neuter program co-ordinated with a local veterinarian, and are seeking foster homes. Displayed were crocheted-trim dish towels, donated by Monique’s Books Boutique in White Sulphur Springs, teacup cozies, and cat beds. Reach them at Facebook.com/KatskillMountainCritters or (845) 898-0112.

Mueller Jewelry, owned by Angela Mueller, offers inexpensive costume jewelry ranging from rings, bracelets, necklaces, pocket watches, and pill boxes, to compact mirrors, all tarnish free.

She appears at a variety of markets in Sullivan and Ulster Counties. Contact her at mboe357@aol.com.

The market was entertained by the acoustic harmonies of duo Paul Kean of Livingston Manor and Debra Fisher of Liberty, who played traditional and contemporary music on voice and guitar. They first got together in 2015 when Paul hired Debra for a Mothers’ Day festival in Parksville and since then they have played at school concerts in Livingston Manor and stream online via Apple music and Spotify. They can be reached at (845) 665-6391.
