MONTICELLO – On Tuesday, July 21, at 7:00 pm The Levins will shake the walls of Temple Sholom with their concert Meanwhile in America. All are invited to listen to the iconic songs of Jewish composers and lyricists whose music helped shape a hopeful, unified landscape of America during World War II and the Great Depression.
Julia and Ira Levin have sung together for nearly a quarter of a century, spreading their joy and enthusiasm to audiences throughout the country. The musical duo harmonizes on guitar and keyboard to produce a full sound that makes you want to sing along. This summer they will take us back to the 1940s with a profusion of spirited songs and stories that cheered and sustained those back home during the war.
Tickets are $18.00 per person. For reservations, call 845-794-8731 and make your check payable to Temple Sholom. This program is generously funded by Hope’s Compass, a local nonprofit organization, and presented by thelevinsmusic.com. Proceeds from the performance will benefit Temple Sholom, 5 Dillon Rd, Monticello.
