Top honor given at NYS-National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet

BINGHAMTON– The NYS National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) held its annual leadership meeting and awards banquet last month in Binghamton.  This event is structured to honor those chapters and members in the state for their outstanding accomplishments in fundraising and promoting the NWTF’s mission and goals.

NWFT Focuses on Healthy Habitats – Healthy Harvests, along with the new Forests and Flocks initiative in the Northeast.

The Sullivan County Long Beards were honored for their outreach programs as “Outstanding JAKES Chapter” and most JAKES registered.  We were also honored by having our Chapters outstanding JAKES member for 2025 chosen as the NYS JAKES member of the year.  The highest award a JAKE can receive at the state level.

This honor was bestowed on James (JJ) Fancher selected for his substantial contribution to the NWTF, scouts and the community.  James has been affiliated with SCLB’s, attending our outreach activities since he was 5 years old starting out as a participant to a current day active volunteer for the SCLB’s.  James is also an active volunteer with several other organizations in the community.

Congratulations James!
