DAMASCUS, PA – Farm Arts Collective, based on Willow Wisp Organic presents a workshop in collaboration with Gael Roots Community Farm on Sunday, September 28 from 11am-1pm, lunch provided.
This workshop is designed to help consumers understand the variety of food label definitions found on many food products. These definitions can include: Free Range, Cage Free, Pasture-raised, Organic, Sustainably Produced – but what does it all mean?
The informative and interactive class will provide clear definitions about the labels that get stamped on our food products and how we can understand the meaning for producers and consumers, and the impact these farming practices have on soil, climate, and economics. This workshop will be led by Iris Gillingham of Gael Roots Farm and is made possible by a For Farmers Movement Grant and the Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Education Grants Program.
No reservation required. Donations gratefully accepted.
Farm Arts Collective is located at 38 Hickory Lane, Damascus, PA 18415.
