MONTICELLO – Families and friends came to “The Pit” on Wednesday evening on Senior Night for the Monticello girls’ basketball team. It was a tough night for the home team as the Gladiators kept pressure on their ball handlers, making it difficult for the Panthers on offense and forcing multiple turnovers. Scoring came difficult for the home team. The Panthers were unable to grab the win over a sharp-shooting Goshen Gladiators team, losing by a 30+ point margin.

Both teams have faced a challenging season, with the Panthers holding a 1-14 record and the Gladiators’ 3-14. As the regular season winds to a close, just a few games remain on the schedule before sectionals are set to begin. The Panthers will have home court advantage next Thursday, February 26, when they take on the Liberty Redhawks, and the Gladiators are scheduled to play Cornwall at home at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 23.
