SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Winter sports regular season is just about over, with only sectionals and regional matchups coming up over the next two weeks. Conditions were ideal this season for Nordic and Alpine skiing with plenty of snow and cold weather on the mountain. “We had probably the best winter conditions in the last 10 years or so,” shared Becky Mitchell, Resort Operations Director at Holiday Mountain. “The conditions made for amazing racing for the high school season. Some nights were a bit chilly, but we couldn’t have asked for any better conditions this year,” Mitchell said. Here’s a look back at the last few weeks of the ski season. Be sure to check out the Democrat’s sports section on Tuesdays and Fridays for boys and girls basketball sectional updates and state qualifiers for indoor track & field.
