HONESDALE, PA – Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Social Work Department plays an important role in the lives of patients. Social workers assess the physical, social, emotional and environmental needs of patients and their families as well as identify services to ensure a safe, caring transition following discharge -- whether it be home, assisted living or another other option.
During March, National Social Work Month, the staff continued their generosity of giving to others beyond the four walls of the hospital by holding a month-long collection drive for the Dessin Animal Shelter and collecting blankets for kidney dialysis patients at DaVita Honesdale Dialysis Center. The support WMH social workers extend to both their patients and the community is outstanding. We celebrate you and thank you for all you do.
