Amanda Lee Tweed, of Mongaup Valley, passed away on April 22, 2022. She was 38.

She was the daughter of Pedro R. Tweed and Patricia M. (Williams) Tweed, born on September 21, 1983 in Monticello, NY.

Amanda worked as a Direct Support Professional for The Center for Discovery; she was also a gymnastics coach working alongside her father and worked for Project Excel. She truly loved working with children, and even went on to write and have published a children’s book titled “Little Star”. She enjoyed keeping herself busy, always looking for the next thing to do. She loved animals and being outside in her garden. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter and friend to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Ileana Tweed with her father Jacques Alarie; her parents Patricia Tweed and Pedro Tweed and his wife Crystal; grandmother Cleopatra Alvarez; her brother Allen Tweed and his fiancé Diana Boyles; nephews Logan and Luna Tweed; step-sisters Angelica and Layla Mack and adopted sister Devin Hayes Tweed; aunts and uncles Luis Cañada, MaryAnn and James Steele, Marie and Joe LaScola and their families; as well as aunts and uncles in Dominican Republic; and friend Geri Schwarz, whom she cherished her friendship with dearly; as well as many other friends whom she held near to her heart.

Donations in Amanda’s name can be made to the scholarship fund for Amanda’s daughter Ileana.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12 to 2 pm at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 55 St. John Street, Monticello, NY 12701.
