Caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Anastasia B. Robisch of Longmont, CO, died Monday, September 18, 2023 at home surrounded by family. She was 80 years old.

“Stasia” was the daughter of the late Ambrose “Slim” and Margaret (Lane) Washington; she was born June 3rd, 1943 in Monticello, NY. She graduated from Saint Joseph’s Mountain School in 1962 with Regents in Forestburgh, NY.

Working for NY Bell Systems under AT&T is where she met her loving husband, John. She loved the job. She also worked part-time for her uncle, Bill Lane in his insurance business, and was Deputy Town Clerk before moving to Colorado. Stasia was an active volunteer, and ran the gifted and talented programs after school, was an election volunteer, sat on numerous boards and non-profits, often holding state positions. She also volunteered in prison ministry, the rosary guild, funeral meals, prayer groups and adoration. Stasia’s vocation outside family was to teach the faith and taught catechism for 37 years.

Stasia devoted her life to God, family, friends and her community. She loved her faith, family and friends ferociously. She was outspoken and fought for what she believed in. Stasia never met a stranger and was a gifted storyteller. Her home (especially the porch) was always a refuge for anyone in need, the door (and phone line) always open. Stasia championed the underdog. She had a myriad of simple short phrases to help journey through life’s struggles, “always remember the good times,” and “ask God to make every thought you have of someone a prayer for them today.” She never betrayed a confidence.

Stasia was an avid reader and never read less than a book and four periodicals of substance a week. She was a bit of the family historian and an artist. She shared her knowledge and love for the beautiful in life with her children -especially music and a love of learning. She relished being a Grandma most of all.

Stasia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia Washington, brother Joseph Washington, sister-in-law Margaret “Peggy” (Robert) Washington, sister-in-law Joyce (William) Fisher, Barbara “Bobbie” Robisch, brother-in-law James (Mary) Robisch and granddaughter Laura Santos.

Stasia is survived by her loving husband, Walter “John” Robisch - they would have celebrated their 45th anniversary October 12th, 2023. Her children, Anastasia Steele (Brice), William “Bill” Stetka (Kelly), Ami Robertson and Timothy Robisch. Stepchildren, equally loved, Barbara Robisch-Cole (Russell), Michael John Robisch, Edwin Robisch (Jennifer) and Scott Robisch. Grandchildren, James Santos, Amanda Katie Santos, Jessica Glassel (John), Caity Preston (Matt), Megan Robisch, Bruce Robisch, Brice Steele, Madeline Steele, William “Billy” Stetka, Jesse Stetka, Wyatt Stetka and Margaret “Maggie” Robertson. Great-grandchildren, George and Laura Glassel and her loving brother Robert Washington and sister-in-law Frances Washington. Stasia also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

A special thank you to Stasia’s hospice carers, especially Becky and Myra, along with her hairdresser and friend, Nailya and for the support Mom received during her illness from so many friends and family that loved her.
