WURTSBORO — The Village of Wurtsboro is getting ready for one of its most anticipated events: the Founder’s Day Street Fair.
Hosted by the Wurtsboro Board of Trade, this exciting event will take place this Saturday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sullivan Street. This family-friendly celebration brings together music, local art, food and community – all in the heart of the Village.
This year’s event is set to continue years of festivities that feature over 150 vendors. In addition, the event promises to have live performances, interactive art exhibits, and entertainment for all ages.
The festivities will also be immersed with live music by Jaketown Road at 11 a.m. and Far Beyond Gone at 2 p.m. Both of these acts will be situated at the lawn at Hudson and Sullivan Streets.
If you like cars, there’s a spot for you as well. The “Any Make Any Model” car show will take place at the intersections of Sullivan and Canal Street. Art enthusiasts will be able to explore mural paintings and meet their artists at locations in the village, including the Mamakating Library and Wurtsboro Art Alliance.
Kids can get in on the fun with bounce houses, a dunk booth, henna art, face paintings, batting cages and even the opportunity to meet alpacas and birds of prey.
Those in need of a bite will be more than welcome to local eateries and street food vendors along Sullivan Street. These will offer a wide variety of fare, ensuring no one goes hungry as they shop handmade goods ranging from jewelry and clothing to artwork and crafts.
The event will go on, rain or shine, and is made possible through support from the Sullivan County Visitors Association and sponsorship from local organizations including Rolling V Bus Corp., Bold Gold Media, Jeff Bank, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Thompson Sanitation, and the Wurtsboro Board of Trade.
