ROCK HILL – Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay announced today that she received the unanimous endorsement of both the Orange and Sullivan County Democratic Committees in her bid for re-election to New York’s 100th Assembly District. She says, “I am honored to have the strong support of both committees as we continue to make the voices of our district heard and impact felt in Albany.”
Sullivan County Democratic Chair Steven Vegliante praised Kay’s first term,
“Paula has performed for our County like a veteran lawmaker. Stepping in as a freshman she has delivered time and time again! Our committee unanimously and proudly endorses her candidacy and looks forward to working hard to return her to Albany to fight for us every day.”
Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano, who nominated Kay in Orange County, noted, “Paula hit the ground running. She delivers real results and is a serious policy maker and tireless public servant, and leader fighting for working families, local governments, infrastructure upgrades, public safety, and economic development. She is relentless when it comes to helping her constituents.”
Town of Wallkill Vice Chair Jean Day added, “I have personally experienced the force of nature that is Paula Kay. Just last week, I took a call from a constituent who said, ‘For the first time, in a very long time, I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth from my tax dollars.’ Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay represents the interests of the residents, labor force, property owners, farms, and businesses of the City of Middletown and Town of Wallkill in Orange County and all of District 100.”
Kay is a member of the standing Committees on Agriculture, Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry, Environmental Conservation, Insurance, Racing and Wagering, and Veterans. She is also an officer for the Women’s Legislative Caucus.
The 100th Assembly District includes most of Sullivan County, as well as the City of Middletown and Town of Wallkill in Orange County.
