Barbara A. Trask of Roscoe, NY, a retired Registered Nurse and a longtime area resident died Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home following a long illness, surrounded by her devoted family. She was 81.

The daughter of the late James S. Bedford and Dorothy Clark Bedford Quick, she was born November 12, 1942 in Norfolk, VA.

Barbara had a long stellar career as a Registered Nurse after graduating from the Scranton State Hospital of Nursing in 1963, having worked at Liberty Loomis Hospital, Community General Hospital, the Sullivan County Adult Care Center, the Sullivan County Jail and retiring from the SNU at Catskill Regional Medical Center.   She was an avid golfer and gardener.  She was a member of the Twin Village Golf Club and played in the Tuesday Night League and also played in the Villa Roma Thursday Night League. Barb was a member of the Roscoe-Rockland Garden Club. Barbara loved her Tuesday Lady’s Day golf at Twin Village. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Trask, at home; one daughter, Patricia Trask-Huggins and her husband Bruce of Roscoe, NY; three grandchildren, Bruce Huggins and his wife Melanie of Roscoe, NY, Amanda Huggins of Monticello, NY and Jesse Huggins of Mongaup Valley, NY; two great grandchildren, Charlotte Lindholm and Bruce T. Huggins, Jr.; two brothers, James Bedford and his wife Belva of Lake Ariel, PA and Sylvester Bedford and his wife Charlotte of Columbus, TX; one sister, Shirley Pitzer and her husband Benny of Montgomery, TX; a sister-in-law, Ruth Bedford of Columbus, TX; Vicki Schwarz of Roscoe, NY, Mary Wilhelm of Las Vegas, NV and Nancy Trask of Roscoe, NY; one aunt, Shirley Tucker of Roscoe, NY; two uncles, Joseph Clark of Newfoundland PA and James Clark of Jessup PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Victor Bedford.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 4-6 PM and Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 10AM to 11:45 AM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 12 Noon at St. Aloysius Church, Church Street in Livingston Manor, NY.  Father Antony David will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
