Baseball World wants to hear “Play Ball”

Everybody loves baseball and there is now optimism that baseball can get back to playing games this summer with fans who are separated by social distancing and wearing face coverings.

It could be in the stadium with a significant difference of space between people, and even then, wearing a facial covering.

It's reasonable that baseball can play a quarantine season.

Preliminary plans include getting a group of players and you put them in a few cities, you make sure they're not infected, you test them so they don't infect each other.

Fewer people will be showing up in the stadium but televised games will be in full swing.

The revenues are not going to be the same as when you have a packed stadium.

No time limit for starting has yet been announced but speculation is that in the middle of this summer, say July 4, let's start the season in a ‘truncated season' exactly the way we would do it normally.

The suggestions to startup baseball would be that teams might have to limit the amount of people in a stadium and make sure you seat them in a way where they are really separated.

It might be possible to have teams play in a few cities and take measures to keep them from getting infected.

Baseball folks all know that there is a healing nature of baseball that might be therapeutic for distressed Americans amid the global coronavirus pandemic and it could be as stringent as only television or it could be in the stadium with a significant difference of space, between people, and even then, wearing a facial covering.

The baseball world is waiting for the call “Play Ball.”
