Berlin Township completes UDC Grant

Posted

NARROWSBURG – Berlin Township recently completed its project under the Upper Delaware Council’s Fiscal Year 2025 Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) program.

The UDC awarded $260 for the township to commission a new set of 52 tax maps from the Wayne County Assessment Office that show land parcel boundaries.

The maps have been added to a hanging filing system for the public and township officials to consult. The information they provide assists with locating specific properties to discern their relationship to the designated Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River corridor as well as the township’s issuance of building permits.

The maps are now publicly available in the municipal office at the Berlin Township Community Hall in Beach Lake, PA.

This is the first to be finished of three grants valued at $13,000 that the UDC approved by resolution on October 3, 2024, with a due date of August 22, 2025.

Fellow 2025 TAG recipients are the Town of Tusten, NY, winning $9,740 to finalize its Open Space and Recreation Plan, and the Town of Deerpark, NY, awarded $3,000 to update its 2011 brochure, “A Map of the Town of Deerpark: Gateway to the Upper Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River.”

From 1988 to 2025, the UDC has awarded $959,463 to support 267 projects by its PA and NY municipal members that advance the goals and objectives of the 1986 River Management Plan for the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.

Visit the Technical Assistance Grants page at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org/ to see program guidelines and a directory of completed projects. Your 2026 applications will be solicited in June.
