WARWICK — The 2023-24 Track season is nearly at the finish line, and the competition is ramping up. 

Over the weekend, competitors from throughout the OCIAA half of Section IX traveled to Warwick to compete in the OCIAA Championships.

With AAA schools all the way to the Class D schools competing in one arena, getting to the top of the leaderboard proved to be a daunting task.

Of the six Sullivan County schools competing, many of the team results were in the lower half, due to the Cornwalls and Monroe Woodburys, that is to say the larger schools with seemingly endless talented athletes across the many events.

Fallsburg’s Isaiah Young continued an impressive senior campaign, finishing first in the 400m and third in the 100m. Young also finished eighth in the 400m, earning an impressive 17 of the team’s 21 total points.

Anna Furman won the 3000m with a time of 10:04.55 and placed fourth in the 1500m, earning 15 of Tri-Valley’s 26 points.

Tonight, the student-athletes from around the section are headed to Goshen, where they will be competing for a chance to move on to State Qualifiers.
