I got a note on my cell phone from my friend John Chai in Syracuse.
It was about what I thought was a service he was having, and I got very alarmed because I thought his wife, Sandy must have died.
In fact I cried over it because why else would he notify me about a service and not include her in the notification and why would he be sending me a text when he seldom does? Sandy handles most of the communication between us.
First of all the text was meant to go to his daughter, and I see now that it said: I scheduled to service ur ac on lily (he meant July so I thought he also meant to write that he had scheduled the service for July 13 and said to let him know if it wasn't convenient.)
That should have been a clue right there. Why would he be scheduling a service and then asking ME to let him know if it wasn't convenient?
Here was my reply: What happened? I'm afraid to know. I'll call you on your landline now. When I called and Sandy answered, I cried again but this time with relief.
Then I texted John: You put such a scare into me that I was crying out loud, for CRYING OUT LOUD. If you ever do that again you will be dying before any of us and it won't be accidental. I added a smiley face.
He texted me an apology and I told him to not worry about it because in a way it was funny. Well, isn't it?
