LIBERTY — District Attorney Brian Conaty recently congratulated the Village of Liberty Police Chief Steven D’Agata with becoming the first Police Agency to become accredited in Sullivan County by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

In order to achieve accreditation a Police Agency must meet a set of standards in three categories: Administration, Training, and Operations. 

“As District Attorney I am pleased that the men and women of the Village of Liberty Police Department
have either met or exceeded these categories to become an accredited agency and I congratulate them all. It is of the utmost importance that police agencies are trained and professional in order to maintain the public trust that is bestowed upon them,” Conaty said.
