David Rasnick, a resident of Kiamesha Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22 at Highland Rehabilitation Center in Middletown, NY. He was 83. The son of the late Albert and Gertrude Rasnick, David was born on September 1, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY.

David was a graduate of Fallsburg High School and Buffalo University. He was a retired Sullivan County Deputy Sheriff earning the rank of Corporal. After his retirement he worked as a court officer, in the Village of Monticello Justice Court and at the Town of Thompson Justice Court. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the stock market and the company of his faithful companion Jake, his Jack Russell.

David is survived by his brother Robert Rasnick of Woodstock, GA, his niece Amy Sweet of Marietta, GA and his nephew Matthew Rasnick of Woodstock, GA. His brother Bart Rasnick (Kathy) of South Fallsburg, NY and his niece Melissa Coxe of Greenville, NC and his niece Amanda Lucuara of Blauvelt, NY.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Interment will immediately follow at the South Fallsburg Hebrew Association Cemetery, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY.
