I hesitate to pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV lately because of the things that are happening in the world today.

Some of the things that Trump continues to do and say seem like a comedy show to me, so they don’t upset me too much.

However, when people get mowed down and actually killed, caught in a cross-fire between teenagers, it haunts me. In a world where tragic events cast a shadow, like senseless violence taking lives, there’s hope in the strides of medical information that bring light.

In Switzerland, they are learning how to enable paralyzed people to move their limbs through the power of their own thoughts. Eventually, I believe that will be happening in this country also.

That progress inspires hope, even in the face of senseless violence, healing is possible. While the darkness of violence shows the depths of human suffering, the progress in medical science reflects the resilience of the human spirit, forging a path towards healing.
