SULLIVAN COUNTY — Research shows that spending time in a garden boasts a rich supply of physical, emotional, and mental health benefits! To inspire residents, homeowners, artists, gardeners and garden enthusiasts who have ideas for their own gardens but need help planning, Horticulture Program Coordinator Katie Gasior will be hosting a two-part educational series through Zoom on Garden Design. Each class will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 8th and Thursday, February 15th.

Participants will learn the logistics of plot planning and implementation that they can combine with visions of their own green oasis. Topics to be covered include site assessment strategies and elements of design that will enable participants to start illustrating their ideas. Additionally, participants will receive tips and strategies on garden styles that will best fit their individual accommodations and selections of plants that will thrive where they live. A question-and-answer session on the topics covered will close out each class.

There is no fee, but preregistration is required to participate. Participants can register online at sullivancce.org/events. After registering, participants will receive a Zoom link to join each session by computer or phone. Those with related questions can find more details at http://sullivancce.org/events, can email sullivan@cornell.edu or call 845-292-6180 for assistance.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County provides equal program and employment opportunities. The public can contact the office to request accommodations.
