I seem to be hooked on British television. First it was “As Time Goes By” and now it’s another comedy-drama, “Doc Martin,” starring Martin Clunes as Dr. Martin Ellingham, which aired from 2004 to 2022. It takes place in the fictional town of Portwenn and is filmed in Port Isaac on the north coast of Cornwall, England. The show has such great writers and actors, and the scenery in this small town is unbelievable! Tens of thousands of tourists have been visiting this quaint, picturesque town each year since the show began. There is much controversy over whether or not, the main character, Dr. Ellingham, is on the autism spectrum. In one episode, a colleague of his, suggests it to be the case, and to me, he does seem to exhibit many of the characteristics. Due to his idiosyncrasies, the doctor is hard to get along with, but he is admired by many people.
