Dorothea Schneble Withers, of Onalaska, WI, formerly of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away in the early morning hours of May 1, 2025.
She was born on April 29, 1929, in Middletown, NY, to George T. and Clara (Johnson) Schneble.
On September 12, 1954, she married the love of her life, William F. Withers, who was predeceased by 40 years. Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked for the Town of Rockland for 30 years, including two terms as Town Clerk. She was active in the Order of the Easter Star for 75 years and was District Deputy Grand Matron in 1986. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Livingston Manor, NY and is survived by her daughter, Susan R. Withers, of Onalaska and LTC(R) William G. Withers, of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren Amanda (Matthew) Bookholt of Indiana, Travis (Becky) Sprague of New York, Billy (Becky) Withers of Colorado, and Ryan (Megan) Sprague of Onalaska; great grandsons Finnegan, Thijs, William, Theodore, Luca and great granddaughters Charlie and Evelyn. She is also survived by her sibling George T. (Cathy) Schneble II, and nephew, George T. (Cindy) Schneble III, of New Jersey.
The service will be held at Lew Beach Cemetery in Lew Beach, NY on Monday, May 19 at 11am.
