Honoring the lives of Edward and Sharon Craft

Please join us as we remember the lives of Edward Craft and his wife, Sharon Craft. The eternal commitment of love and honor, not only to each other, but to their family, friends, and loved ones, will forever be cherished.

Edward H. Craft

Ed passed away in his beloved home, Loch Sheldrake, New York, on October 4, 2024. He was 82 years old.

He was born on November 6, 1942, Margaretville, New York. He was the son of the late Walter S. Craft and Vera A. Craft. After graduating Fleischmanns High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, assigned to the USS Forrestal (CVA-59). After his honorable service, he worked for Eastman Kodak. He later found his career with the New York State Department of Corrections, retiring as a sergeant with 28 years of dedicated service. His career started at Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY and finished at Woodbourne Correctional Facility. Ed was an active C.E.R.T. member for many years at both facilities. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0109, National Rifle Association and New York State Corrections Officers and Police Benevolent Association.

Ed married the love of his life, July 28, 1964, Sharon (Pultz) and they had one daughter Tiffany. Sharon was the heart of his being. His life was dedicated to her daily, never leaving her side when she became very sick, until her last breath.

Ed loved his family and friends. He enjoyed many days starting with breakfast at Liberty Diner, with his Corrections friends. Ed was a doting grandfather to two grandchildren. His daughter was his world, his “Sunshine”. He was extremely proud of his son-in-law of 33 years that he loved like his own son. His furry companion Fuzzy put joy in his life, especially after the passing of his loving wife.

His family would like to thank, Dr. Juan Goyesetta and the employees of DiVita Dialysis Center, who became extended family to Ed. His close friend Bob Krum, who was like a brother to him. The most loving and thoughtful neighbors, Bogdan and Bo.

Ed leaves behind his daughter, Tiffany Abreu (Juan), grandchildren Nikko and Jazmin, sister Carolyn Neal (Butch), brother Walter S. Craft, Jr., sister-in-law Greta Craft, nephews Rick and Dan, nieces Terry, Michelle and Laurie.

He is predeceased by his wife Sharon and brother Richard.

Sharon Craft

Sharon of Loch Sheldrake, New York, passed away on December 16, 2023, in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family, after a very brief but hard battle with pancreatic cancer. With the love and support of her family and friends, she bravely fought until her last breath.

Sharon was born on October 4, 1945, in Margaretville, New York. She was the daughter of the late Robert P. Pultz, Sr. and Florence E. Pultz. After graduating Fleischmanns High School, she went on to marry the love of her life, Edward and eventually had one daughter, Tiffany. For 60 years, Ed was her everything. Even on the worst days, when very sick from cancer, she had to know Ed was eating properly and taking care of his serious health conditions.

Sharon was an adoring grandmother. She cherished every moment of her two grandchildren’s lives. Her daughter and son-in-law were her world. She especially loved her daily talks with her son-in-law. She treasured her lifelong friends Susan, Janice and Suellen. Before she became sick, she loved cooking for her neighbors who became her extended family. Sharon was a fierce animal lover, especially cats. Her Fuzzy cat helped her through some very painful days, especially at the end.

Her family would like to thank, the very dedicated and thoughtful members of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Capital Caring Hospice of Arlington, Virginia, for the compassionate care they provided. Evelyn, for the kindness, love and hope you gave her. Amazing neighbors, Bogdan and Bo and lifelong friend Suellen.

Sharon leaves behind her daughter Tiffany Abreu (Juan), grandchildren Nikko and Jazmin and nephew Joshua Pultz. She is predeceased by her brother Robert P. Pultz Jr.

We invite you to honor Ed and Sharon’s lives on November 2, 2024, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York 12788 from 1-2:00pm. A funeral service will begin at 1:30pm with Pastor Ginny Bossley. Interment will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY 12754.
