Ellenville Public Library and Museum free Library Programs for September

ELLENVILLE - Ellenville Public Library and Museum is getting ready for Fall with virtual programs for the public to enjoy absolutely free. Many of these upcoming programs will also be recorded. Even if someone can’t make the program live, they can watch it on their own.

Ellenville Public Library and Museum will also be collecting Donations of Dignity from September 20th to October 30th for the Great Give Back!

Please donate unused and unopened personal care items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, feminine hygiene products such as pads and tampons, cotton swabs, et cetera, to be distributed to our community.

These items are not covered by programs such as food stamps but are absolutely necessary. For more information, please call (845)647-5530.

  • Storytime on the Lawn

Wednesdays 10:30am September 15-November 18

For ages birth-five with caregivers join Miss Susan for stories, rhymes and fun! Bring a blanket to sit on. Social distancing will be required.

  • Voter Registration Workshop with the Ulster County Board of Elections

Tuesday, September 7 from 6:30– 8:30pm on Zoom and in person

Join Ellenville Public Library and Museum and the Ulster County Board of Elections for a workshop about how to register to vote, and how to vote once you’ve been registered. Not sure if you’ll be able to attend live? Sign up anyway! All participants will be sent a recording of the presentation.

  • Zumba for All Abilities: Chair Zumba led by Dr. Shellie Fraddin

Wednesday, September 8 and 22 at 1:00pm on Zoom

Join EPLM and Dr. Shellie Fraddin for Zumba that is suitable for all fitness levels! Dr. Shellie is a Health Coach and Wellness Educator providing immune-boosting services and programs to older adults for a healthy long life. She’s been teaching Zumba Fitness classes since 2005 and was once called the “oldest Zumba Instructor in the world.” Dr. Shellie is 82. Not sure if you’ll be able to attend live? Sign up anyway!   • Paint Along with Shawn Dell Joyce: Pet Portrait Painting with Acrylic on Canvas

Thursday, September 23 at 1:00-3:00pm on Zoom

Paint along with Shawn Dell Joyce on Zoom as we make DIY Pet Portrait Paintings! Our wonderful presenter Shawn Dell Joyce will be providing pre-sketched canvases for those participating. In light of this, the class size will be limited, and all attendees who wish to participate must send a PNG image of their pet to epl@rcls.org, or fill out the online form and upload the picture there by no later than September 7. Please note that due to the limited class size and materials, no person may sign up any person other than themselves. Additionally, for this specific program Ellenville Public Library and Museum Patrons will be given priority. Not sure if you’ll be able to attend live? Sign up anyway!   • STEAM Along with Kathy Ceceri: Amazing Math Models

Thursday, September 23 at 6:00pm on Zoom

Calling all teens! Join educator and author Kathy Ceceri as she leads us through creating paper designs that make math fun! Explore the mysterious behavior of math models like the Mobius strip, the hexaflexagon, and the dragon curve fractal using just paper, scissors, tape and markers. Can’t make it live? Join EPLM as we delve into the mysteries of a fantasy library. The adventure begins September 25 at 5:00pm on Zoom, and continues every other Saturday at the same time.
