Flag Day not Kings Day

What happened to my country? Brutal, vicious deportations without due process. Threatening cuts to Medicaid that will literally kill people. Ending Head Start, Jobs Corps, and Americorp. Abandoning all attempts to combat climate change.

Turning the National Guard on those exercising their right to protest. Putting completely incapable people in charge of our government’s essential institutions. Throwing our considerable weight around the world like some drunken, diaper-clad baby. How does this help the American people? All while the Trump crime family rakes in more and more cash, trading tariff rates for hotel deals. Our country is truly for sale. We watched them all bid for his crypto.

Now we get to pay for a military parade for his birthday. A military parade!! Millions of dollars spent to celebrate him.

This defines waste, fraud, and abuse. This is not a United States that I recognize.

I was not at his party. On June 14th, I was on Broadway in our County’s capital, Monticello, declaring that it is Flag Day, not king’s day. In America, we do not have a king. We have a democracy. I was there standing with others who recognize that our country needs us to stand up and say NO KINGS!!!
