FORESTBURGH – During the regular monthly town meeting, the Forestburgh Town Board discussed ongoing projects such as the bids for the computer server system and the town line solar project.
Under old business, the board discussed a number of ongoing projects and vacancies.
Supervisor Dan Hogue said the town plans to invite an engineering firm to a future meeting to give a presentation related to planning board matters. The board also continues to interview candidates to fill a vacancy on the planning board and is seeking two individuals to serve on the board of assessment review.
Discussion continued regarding the towns’ computer server system, with the board reviewing a second proposal and gathering input from other municipalities over a cloud-based server. The matter was tabled until next month to allow for additional information.
Similarly, the board is seeking a second proposal for a camera system at the highway department.
A major topic of new business was the proposed town line solar project in the Melody Lake Area.
Supervisor Hogue explained that the large-scale development is expected to file notice with the state soon.
In response, Sullivan County, Town of Thompson and the Town of Forestburgh have agreed to jointly retain legal representation through Harris Beach Murtha. It was explained that the municipalities would jointly share resources funded through a $200,000 contribution from the solar developer.
The board authorized Supervisor Hogue to sign the memorandum of agreement for joint representation.

The solar panels are going to have effects on the forest which they have started to cut down , there
Is a forty year least on the three people that leased
The 4300 acres and the panels will effect the ground
And the runoff of the water it takes in the lakes and
Springs the animals that are around there will be
Displaced.
The solar energy plants will be sold to other companies so prices will go up and most of this
Energy will go elsewhere and we will not get
Anything from the panels there mostly go to
Conn. Penn, New Jersey and some to NY our
Towns were not notified by the State who new
About this over 2 years ago passed a bill it only
Needs DECa approval by Jan first. We were
To be notified 60 days in advance instead of
Only thirty to reply.
This is part of the Saying Money talks and BS
Walks. Any other info call the planning board
Who knew about this for over two years.
There goes our forests and land good water to
Drink even for a well.
