A military service and burial for Francis “Frank” Carbone will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty. All are welcome.
A resident of Kenoza Lake and a well-known and big-hearted man, Carbone died after suffering a stroke on Dec. 7 in Westchester Medical Center. He was cremated.
A U.S. Army veteran, Carbone continuously lobbied for help for former soldiers. He was known on a first-name basis by New York State officials Chuck Schumer and Aileen Gunther and at various veteran agencies.
