MIDDLETOWN – Garnet Health, which includes Garnet Health Medical Center, Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Garnet Health Doctors, Garnet Health Urgent Care, Garnet Health Foundation and Garnet Health Foundation – Catskills, is recognizing two outstanding people within the health system as 2021 Employees of the Year.

Garnet Health’s Employee Recognition Program acknowledges outstanding Garnet Health Medical Center staff who perform their roles based on standards of excellence and provide an exceptional experience for employees, patients, and visitors.

Maryann Eldred, Second Cook in the Dietary Department, was named Employee of the Year at Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, and Greg O’Gorman, Executive Chef in the Food and Nutrition Services Department, was named Employee of the Year at Garnet Health Medical Center.

“Maryann and Greg exemplify the qualities that make Garnet Health exceptional,” said Alfred E. Pilong, Jr., President & CEO of Garnet Health. “They selflessly put our patients and employees first in everything they do in a caring and professional manner.”

Eldred, who works at the Callicoon campus, regularly goes above and beyond to provide excellent service on a daily basis. “Maryann takes the time to talk with our patients at length and goes above and beyond by discussing their desired dietary requests,” a nominator wrote. “She does everything in her power to make sure both patients and staff are satisfied.”

O’Gorman has been with Garnet Health since 2012 and consistently delivers exceptional service and experiences to both patients and colleagues. “He comes in faithfully every day, does more than his share, and smiles when doing it,” said one nominator about O’Gorman’s dedication to the role. “The organization is blessed to have him.”
