Happy Halloween!

In just two days, the creepiest, spookiest and scariest holiday of them all returns once again; Halloween! There is no time quite like it...falling leaves, apple cider, and creative costumes all taking center stage, all of it coming to its epic apex on the 31st.

It goes further than just a holiday too. For some, Halloween is a way of life year round. The spirit of horror, chills, candy, black cats and creepy crawlies are things not only reserved for one night in October. That all gives the day itself that much more influence – and it would just feel so wrong to not take it all in.

In places where trick-or-treating is still popular, the streets will be lined with kids and young people in costumes on the hunt for either some coveted candy, to find and slay an evil vampire, or maybe both.

It’s a night dedicated to the thrill of adventure, and while their imaginations run wild with a boost of sugar and chocolate, it is vastly important for parents and guardians to keep safety in their Halloween plans. The Farmer’s Almanac depicts this Thursday as a rather dark one (literally) with only just one percent of the Moon being visible. Absolutely nothing like the illuminated Hunter’s Full Moon we had just a little while ago.

However, the upcoming darkness puts a spotlight on the importance of safety on Halloween night: with the number one lesson being to stay visible at all times if you plan on roaming around on roads. You may not be as visible as you may think you are.

Also be sure to bundle up! As the weather finally starts to drop at night, it is better to be safe than sorry – especially with costumes that may not hold the heat as well as ordinary clothing.

With all of this in mind, have a great, happy and safe Halloween! Go and get your spooky spirit riled up and be sure not to eat all the sweets in one night, it’ll all still be good on November 1!
